AGM 2019 Short Report

 The 41 UK Branch members who attended the 2019 UK Branch Annual General Meeting heard the Chairman Mike Coleman report on a good year for the Branch with continued progress in attracting new members and good attendances at functions.

A full report on the meeting will follow shortly,  the main points being Jim Harris, Treasurer reported a slight increase in overall income but warned with rising costs subs may have to be increased which the meeting subsequently agreed should be raised to £20, the Chairman of Trustees, Alan Toms reported trust made grants of £2575 during the year with also a slight increase in  income over expenditure, the Almoner, Tony Granger reported on progress with recruiting assistant Almoners and assistance given to members during the year; The President of the Regimental Association  and Chairman of the Constitutional College Alan Toms, reported on activities of the College including the creation of a new award for outstanding service to the Association titled the Meritorious Service Award.

The election of committee members resulted in Mike Coleman, Alan Toms and Tony Granger being re-elected, Glenn Seymour-Hall and Betty Simpson being elected for the first time. Finally, Alan Toms reported on the establishment of a ‘Memorial Maintenance Fund’ to fund the maintenance for life of the BSAP Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum and invited donations a good number of which were immediately made by members. Further details concerning the fund and how to donate will be published shortly.
