ORDERS and MEDALS RESEARCH SOCIETY CONVENTION 2019

Paul Brewster, the Branch Historian, accompanied by Tony Granger attended the convention held in Nottingham on 14th September where Paul had a ‘BSAP Stand’ with a display of BSAP Long Service medals and BSAP books for sale.

Paul reports:

The medal display attracted lots of interest and the research was deemed to be worthy of a Gold Medal, I was also given a cheque for £200 for a piece I wrote for the OMRS Journal, best first time entry.

So that aside how was it.

There is a growing interest in Africa and its history. Over the course of the weekend I met several collectors who specialise in either Colonial Police Forces or the wars in African. The Association stand attracted one member (who I know) and others I am talking to about joining. We sold only one book – to a gentleman who claimed to have Murrays Medals?

The event was a success and it was nice to see the stand attracting so much attention.
